So Long Good Buddy

Odd numbers really aren't my thing, but today I had no choice. The precious dog who shared his life with me for 12+ years had to move onward today. Little Buddy, Dubby, BuddhiSatya, was adopted from K9Haven.org over 10 years ago. I had decided that it was time for a dog, after having some bad luck with dog ownership over the years, along came Buddy. I won't elaborate, but just tell you he really was the "best dog ever"...I will miss him so much. It was so difficult to make the decision to let him go, but it was the least I could do. The transition was peaceful, he was with me, Christina & George. We were able to hold him for a time after the passing. I remember once asking how anyone could have given up such a fantastic dog, and Christina said, "So you could adopt him Mom". Such a wise child...I love you little dog, you have a part of my heart with you for always and ever...

Last week was a very not good week for me. I just found out that Buddy was not doing well and now I found out that he is at the Rainbow Bridge. This is cathartic for me. Precious pets ferociously grab on to our hears. Your news and blog got me good and you know how pretty I look when my eyes and nose are swollen. I am so sorry.

It was extremely sad, but very gentle. He deserved the softest landing, and that is what he got. We held him for the longest time, it really didn't seem as though he was gone. Having him cremated then saving ashes...gonna be sprinkled a bit here on the land, then mixed in with me when my bosy goes to ashes...

And don't forget he was "dubby-dini" too!!! I am mostly happy for Buddy's existence in our lives because he was such a part of yours!!! In more ways than one he made sacrifices so you could live a happier life, and understood you and how you were feeling more than any one of us ever could! Cheers to a fabulous doggie, and member of the Lucchesi clan eternal. We couldn't have asked for a better departure from this life for him, he deserved it!
Grandpa Bob, Bobby, and Buddy all watching over us now...how cool. :)
Loving you always, T.

i never intimately knew the love of little dog ownership before getting frankie... its got a wonder all of its own. the perfect companion. i dread the day he leaves me and i can't imagine what you're going through. i learned a lot of my nonsense puppy-human sounds and nicknames from watching you and buddy. good memories. you both are in my thoughts!

Ill miss you Buddy! You were the best doggie ever! And you never barked and hid under the table but you always greeted everyone with kisses! We will miss that little guy! :(

I will miss my visits to Leslie Ln. where I was always greeted by the friendly face of Buddy. He was so sweet, kind and giving of his love....and his playful streak always came through as he pranced (yes I remember him prancing!) throughout the kitchen. Meeting Buddy (and Bellina of course) has made me convinced that if and when I do get a dog -that it must be a pomeranian. Much love to you all in this difficult time.

Thank you all for those kind words. Yes, Buddy was a prancer boy! So fricking cute, and wise. Damn it is odd not having him here...He loved everyone...lil ambassador of kindness.

I love you all...
